About Hunter Mae
I’m Hunter Mae—a crochet enthusiast, software engineer, and innovator in the fiber arts community. Outside of crafting, I’m a tap dancer, wife to my high school sweetheart Adam, and proud dog mom to Bucky and Captain. Whether I’m coding or crocheting, I’m always looking for ways to combine creativity and technology!
How It All Began
My journey with fiber arts began when my grandma taught me to crochet at just 8 years old. I was fascinated by the idea of creating something with my hands, and it brought me a sense of calm. Over the years, I’ve combined my love for math and creativity to innovate in the world of crochet, using my skills as a software engineer to bring new tools and patterns to life. Mae Crochets was born out of this love for crafting and problem-solving!
Where Passion Meets Innovation
I created Mae Crochets to combine traditional fiber arts with modern technology. My Mae to Measure patterns are a one-of-a-kind innovation that allow anyone to craft garments tailored perfectly to their measurements—all within an easy-to-use, interactive PDF. There’s no guesswork, no cross-referencing with separate tools—just you, your yarn, and your personalized pattern!
What Sets Mae Crochets Apart?
While other patterns rely on separate tools like Excel sheets or confusing templates, I take it a step further. My Mae to Measure patterns calculate every stitch and row for you—all in one user-friendly PDF. Plus, my Universal Patterns allow any yarn, any stitch, and any gauge to be used, giving you full creative freedom without sacrificing precision.
